How To Do Stuff

To create a new page, search for a page which doesn't exist. You'll see that you have the option to create a new page with that title. Click on that, and add some content.

To add a page to a category, you'll need to put an entry at the bottom of the page. Edit the Pennsylvania Amateur Wrestling Federation page, and you'll see an example.

To create a new category, first create a page which belongs to the category. For instance, I created Pennsylvania Amateur Wrestling Federation before I created Category:Regions. Add the page to a category which doesn't exist, and then follow the link from that page to the new, blank category. Add a category description, and you're done.

If you want to see how something was done, edit the page and look at the markup. You can do this on Wikipedia, as well; you'll see a lot more techniques there, and each of them can be used here. As a last resort, of course, you can also read the documentation.

Don't be afraid of doing something wrong; there's not much here yet. Try stuff. You'll learn faster that way.

Discussing Things

On any page, you'll see a discussion tab up at the top. Click on that, and you can post messages about the page you're on. For now, you can discuss general matters in the discussion area of this page. That will change, at some point (possibly soon); we'll have a real home page, and a dedicated discussion area.

Short-Term Goals

Follow the category links below. You'll see that the entries are incomplete; there are more committees, regions, and state associations than are documented here. We want to complete those. So, for instance, we need to:

  • Create an entry for each person on each committee
  • Create a category entry for each committee
  • Add each committee category to Category:Committees

Likewise state federations should each have entries; these entries should be members of both region categories and Category:State Associations. Region categories should belong to Category:Regions.
